Course Description:

In this course, we will cover the basic principles of modern cell biology, including cell chemistry, biological membranes and cell signaling, the organization of cell compartments, energy flow and information flow in cells, the cytoskeleton and cell motility.  Cell biology is a rapidly changing science.  Think about it.  An astonishing amount of what we know about cells derives from experiments performed in the past 60 years!  Therefore, throughout the course, we will focus not only on important facts and concepts, but also on the scientific methods which have led us to this understanding.
